Message from Mayor Don Hartill:
Probably the most visible activity this past year was the construction
of the new addition to the Village office. The new room makes it possible
to hold more than one meeting at a time at the office.
The 4% tax increase is earmarked for North Triphammer Rd. reconstruction.
We had hoped to obtain reduced setback requirements and land owners' good
will, which would have allowed us to acquire the necessary rights-of-way
for no cost. Unfortunately, that was not possible and we will now have
to purchase properties using money from our capital reserve fund as well
as all the income from the 4% tax increase.
Another important, but invisible, investment the Village made was to
replace the water pipe along Uptown Rd. and at the Airport, allowing us
to remove the old elevated water tank and thus eliminate the large maintenance
costs.
