Village of Lansing
Highlights of 1999
-
The North Triphammer Road Reconstruction Project has qualified for 80%
funding by the Federal Highway Program. The maintenance and rebuilding
of other Village roads continues and pedestrian needs have been given a
priority. Sheraton Drive sidewalk and Uptown Road reconstruction will be
completed next year.
-
The Village Office has been expanded and space can now be available to
Village groups.
-
Progress has been made on regional solutions to provide water for customers
of Bolton Point, Cornell, and the City of Ithaca.
-
The Village has joined the proposal for a regional solution to waste water
treatment which recently received the first two years of funding for a
three year project from New York State. Since the Village has been unable
to obtain necessary sewer units from the Cayuga Heights sewer plant, which
is operating at capacity, this is an important step.
-
The Comprehensive Plan has now been approved which will ensure that the
character of the Village does not change.
