Village of Lansing
MINUTES of a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lansing held on Wednesday, April 14, 1999, in the Village Office.
Present: Mayor, Don Hartill, Trustees Larry Fresinski, Lynn Leopold; Ben Curtis, Jodi Dake, and Dennis Reinhart.
Mayor Donald Hartill called the meeting to order at 1:40pm and went around the table to hear everyone’s comments.
Dennis has completed a survey of the potholes in the Village and hope’s to fill them Friday. Dennis asked when the reconstruction of Uptown Road would take place. The Mayor said it would be this year. Dennis stated that they have been televising and flushing the sewer lines and are finding pipe holes. He’s in the process of identifying problems that can be fixed. Don suggested that Dennis meet with Dave to make a priority list. Brush pick up begins May 3rd. Dennis got the Mayors approval to go ahead and order the new dump truck. Dennis wants to hire a part-time helper now. Dennis will place an ad in the Ithaca Journal for a full time temporary person and the Board of Trustees will vote on the person at the May 3rd meeting. Lastly, Dennis stated that we found that when the gas line was laid it intercepted the old footer drain and that was why we were getting water backed up in the conference room. They have dug it up and will lay new pipe.
Ben stated that the cable list has gone out. He asked Larry if locations for calling for video/data connections were ok. Larry said it was. There is some activity in the Village, Monroe Muffler wants to come in in the back corner lot of Cayuga Mall and Marriott wants to put up a Hotel at the B&T Park. May 8th the kids with the Master Gardner’s Program will begin planting at the Village Office. It’s possible that we may also get them to work on some of the Village trails.
At the last meeting the trustee’sdid not formally decide to have the Town of Lansing repair our water main breaks and the mayor entertained a motion to do so.
Resolution #3534- To Use the Town of Lansing for Water Main Breaks
Trustee Lynn Leopold motioned to use the Town of Lansing for water main breaks and Trustee Larry Fresinski seconded the motion. A vote was taken:

Dennis will call Bolton Point and Jodi will call Pete Larson at the Town.
Lynn thanked Jodi for doing double sided copying. She asked about having Lansing Community news do our newsletters. She stated that the County does theirs in the Ithaca Journal. The problem with this is that the Ithaca Journal is our official newspaper. Lynn stated that the mileage rate has gone down to .31 per mile.
Resolution #3535- Abstracts of Audited Vouchers
Be it RESOLVED, that Abstract of Audited Vouchers No. 11 for the General Fund, in the amount of $14,145.22, is hereby approved for payment, and
Be it RESOLVED, that Abstract of Audited Vouchers No. 11 for the Water Fund, in the amount of $6,509.97, is hereby approved for payment, and
Be it further RESOLVED, that Abstract of Audited Vouchers No. 11 for the Sewer Fund, in the amount of $4,388.44, is hereby approved for payment, and
Trustee Larry Fresinski moved that this resolution be adopted and Trustee Lynn Leopold
seconded the motion. A vote was taken:
